PTA volunteer of the year

Our volunteer of the year is Jennifer Boyer.  Jennifer was recognized at the HCCPTA Annual Banquet on May 15, 2012.   Thank you Jennifer for all of your work for the past 3 years.

The PTA board would like to also recognize 2 other volunteers, Lisa Farwell and Carolyn Elgin.

Eighth grade dance

The 8th grade dance is coming up June 8.  Keep checking back for details and permission forms.

Geography bee winner

Congratulations to Kevin Z. who won the state geography bee, Mar. 20.  He goes on to compete at the national level in May.  Click here to learn more.

Essay contest winner

Moody 7th grader Priya V. won the middle school category for the African American Trailblazers essay contest.  Her essay appeared in the Times-Dispatch.  Click here to read it.

Raiders sing

Some of our students will perform music from as far away as Samoa in a free concert with the Richmond City Singers, May 20 at 4pm, at Christ Ascension Episcopal Church.  The Virginia Benefit Chorale will also sing.

Scholarship drawing

Junior Achievement of Central Virginia is hosting a “Dream Job” contest.  Entrants can win a $1,000 scholarship through the Virginia 529 program.  Click here to enter.

Labels for education

We are doing really well on our Boxtops collection. We could break $1,500 this year.  Keep sending them in!  Remember Labels for Education as well.  It includes products like Campbell’s, Post, PopSecret and V8.  See the Retail Promo page for more details.  You get extra credit for collecting labels from friends and neighbors.
